Dr. Anna Monique Halbeisen, D.O.

Sports Medicine, Neuromusculoskeletal/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Prior to matchplay on Thursday and Friday, she will be discussing how to treat and prevent some of the most common tennis injuries through exercise, form, and nutrition.

More about Dr. Halbeisen & her area of expertise:

“Our fundamental training is very similar to our MD counterparts but philosophically differs in that it emphasizes evaluation of the body as a whole–mind, body, spirit and also acknowledges the relationship between the structure and function of the body.”

Dr. Halbeisen specializes in tennis injuries and is the physician for the San Diego Open as well as other local ITF tournaments. Osteopathic physicians have over 500 hours of additional training in medical school that teaches them how to diagnose and treat structural dysfunction in the body as it relates to many common complaints. She offers a hands-on approach to common orthopedic concerns such as rotator cuff injuries, hip pain, neck and back ailments.

“Throughout my training, I have marveled at the body’s innate ability to heal itself and how lifestyle choices can affect this.”
